So I just had finals in Spanish and in Math, and it got me thinking about how different things could have been if I had chosen a different group of friends or even a different school.
So as always, may this make you think,

Okay, I'll admit, I'm pretty much a hermit (no, I didn't marry Gabe the Hermit Who Kicks Julia's Cat) (Sorry inside joke). I don't go out a lot...like ever (oh, I cringe at the horrid grammar of us teens). I don't party, hangout, go to the movies, any of that. I'd rather stay at home, listen to the rain, (not that there is any), whilst reading a deep, philosophical, theological, or any other type of book that makes you think.
But as I stated around World Language 103, Mrs. Williams' Spanish 1 class, I couldn't help but feel nostalgic, wondering what would have happened if I had made friends, actual friends, not acquaintances, if I had let these people into my life.
Then I looked at them again and analyzed their behavior over the last two semesters. "Be careful of your friends for your friends become your future." (See the alliteration?) (Yes, I'm a nerd, get over it.) There are those people who always cut class, and those who curse in every single sentence, and those who are rude and impolite. And then the counter example to that is that portion of the population (Another alliteration! Score! What are you staring at? Yes I'm a nerd, get over it!) who are good, and loving, and amena, utterly pure.
Good people, loving people, are easy to find. They are everywhere, but amena? Utter purity? Pure people are a select few in this world: young children, and those who love God. We might not have been pure, but none of us were. But our friends need to be those who draw us closer to the Lord, and whose actions and choices reflect His presence in their hearts.
